PERMANENT MAKEUP IN ROCHESTER, MI — WAKE UP BEAUTIFUL EVERY DAY!

Imagine waking up every morning with perfectly defined brows, soft eyeliner, and beautifully shaped lips — without reaching for a single makeup brush. That’s the freedom permanent makeup delivers. At LHR Skin and Vein Center in Rochester, MI, Diana Callas has been perfecting the art of permanent cosmetics for over 25 years, helping clients look and feel their best around the clock.

Whether you want to enhance what you have, restore what you’ve lost, or correct a previous permanent makeup procedure that didn’t deliver the results you hoped for — Diana has the expertise, the artistry, and the technique to get it right.

WHAT IS PERMANENT MAKEUP?

Permanent makeup, also known as cosmetic tattooing or micropigmentation, is a process where carefully selected pigments are implanted into the dermal layer of the skin using specialized techniques. The result is long-lasting, waterproof color that looks natural, stays fresh, and requires zero daily maintenance.

The most commonly requested procedures are eyebrows, eyeliner, and lip color — though permanent makeup has expanded well beyond cosmetic enhancement into medical and restorative applications as well. At LHR Skin and Vein Center, every procedure is approached with the same philosophy: enhancing your natural beauty, not overriding it.

THE SOFTAP® METHOD — WHY IT’S THE GOLD STANDARD

Not all permanent makeup techniques are created equal. At LHR Skin and Vein Center Diana exclusively uses the SofTap® hand method — and there are very good reasons why.

SofTap® is a hand-applied technique using patented, disposable hand needles that gently tap pigment into the skin rather than cutting or pushing it in. This fundamental difference in approach makes all the difference in results:

Gentle on Skin and Hair Follicles —

Unlike blade-based techniques like microblading, SofTap® does not damage the surrounding skin tissue or hair follicles. This means existing eyebrow hair is preserved and the treated area heals cleanly without scar tissue.

True, Lasting Color —

SofTap® pigments are specifically formulated to hold their true color after healing. What you see is what you get — no unexpected color shifts to blues, grays, or greens over time. The color stays soft, natural, and exactly as intended.

Natural-Looking Results —

The soft tapping technique produces a genuinely soft, natural finish. Hairstrokes look like real hair. Eyeliner looks like it was applied by hand. Lips look defined but never overdone. It blends seamlessly with your natural features.

No Bleeding, Minimal Discomfort —

Topical numbing agents are applied before treatment to ensure you remain comfortable throughout. There is no bleeding, no harsh noise, and no aggressive mechanical process. Most clients describe it as surprisingly relaxing.

Two Sessions for Perfect Results —

SofTap® is designed as a two-session process. The first session lays the foundation and the second session, after healing, perfects the color saturation and shape. This approach ensures the final result is exactly what you envisioned.

DIANA’S SPECIALTY — MICROBLADING CORRECTION AND REMOVAL

One of the most in-demand services Diana provides is correcting permanent makeup procedures that went wrong elsewhere — particularly microblading. Because, often times a good price costs too much in the end.

Microblading has grown enormously popular in recent years, but it carries real risks. The blade technique pushes ink — not body-compatible pigments — into the skin by cutting through tissue. A month after healing, clients often find the color has shifted to unexpected hues — blues, grays, charcoals, and greens. The crisp hairstrokes they paid for have turned blotchy and undefined. In some cases, scar tissue has formed and existing eyebrow hair has been damaged or destroyed.

Diana sees these cases regularly and has perfected her ability to correct them. Using SofTap® pigments she can neutralize unwanted color, reshape poorly executed brows, and restore a natural, flattering appearance. In cases where removal is needed, she can remove and alter colors without laser — which should never be used on permanent makeup as it destroys existing eyebrow hair.

If you’ve had a permanent makeup procedure that you’re unhappy with, a free consultation with Diana is the first step toward getting it right.

WHAT PERMANENT MAKEUP CAN DO FOR YOU

Eyebrows —

Whether you want to fill sparse areas, define a soft arch, or completely recreate brows that have thinned due to age, over-plucking, or medical conditions, Diana will design a brow shape that perfectly complements your face. Every brow is customized to your bone structure, skin tone, and personal style. The result looks soft and natural — with or without existing eyebrow hair.

Eyeliner —

From a subtle lash enhancement that simply makes your eyes look brighter and more defined, to a more dramatic line — the style is entirely yours. Diana applies eyeliner directly into the lash line for a look that adds depth, definition, and a wide-eyed effect that’s impossible to recreate with a pencil every morning.

Lips —

Lip liner or full lip color from Diana can redefine the lip border, correct asymmetry, add fullness, prevent lipstick from bleeding, and minimize the appearance of vertical lip lines. Wake up every morning with perfectly defined lips that need nothing added.

Medical and Restorative Applications —

Permanent makeup extends well beyond cosmetics. Diana provides restorative procedures including camouflaging scars from injury or surgical procedures such as face-lifts, restoring areola pigmentation following breast reconstruction surgery, skin re-pigmentation for areas that have lost their natural tone, and camouflaging or enhancing features affected by medical conditions.

WHY DIANA — AND WHY IT MATTERS

Permanent makeup is exactly that — permanent.

The skill, artistry, and judgment of the person performing your procedure directly determines what you will wake up looking at every day. This is not the place to comparison shop on price.
Diana Callas has over 25 years of specialized experience in permanent cosmetics. She has an extraordinary eye for color matching — selecting pigments that will complement your skin tone perfectly after healing, not just in the chair. She understands facial structure, symmetry, and proportion in a way that only comes from decades of hands-on practice.

She has also spent years correcting other practitioners’ mistakes. That perspective — seeing what goes wrong and why — has made her one of the most careful, precise, and artistically gifted permanent makeup specialists in the Rochester, MI area.

Numerous physicians refer their patients to Diana specifically for her permanent makeup work — including post-surgical and medical applications where precision and gentleness are non-negotiable.

LHR Skin and Vein Center proudly works alongside some of Rochester’s most respected physicians, including Dr. Richard Hainer at North Oakland Plastic Surgery. Diana provides areola restoration and scar camouflage permanent makeup for Dr. Hainer’s breast reconstruction patients — and Dr. Hainer refers his patients to Diana for post-surgical skin care needs.

WHAT TO EXPECT — BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER

Before Your Appointment —

Avoid applying makeup, lotions, or perfumes on the day of your appointment. If you are having lip work done and are prone to cold sores, medication should be taken before, during, and after treatment. If you are on blood thinners or aspirin, discontinue one week prior. Avoid Retin-A or glycolic peels on the treatment area for one week beforehand.

During Your Procedure —

Topical numbing agents are applied before treatment to keep you comfortable throughout. SofTap® is gentle, noiseless, and involves no bleeding. Each session takes 1-2 hours depending on the area. Strict sanitation and sterilization protocols are followed in accordance with OSHA and CDC guidelines.

After Your Procedure —

Light scabbing is completely normal and part of the healing process. Complete healing takes approximately five days. You will receive detailed aftercare instructions and an ointment to keep the area moist during healing. Most clients return to work and normal activities the following day. Avoid sun exposure on the treated area for one week after your procedure.

Color and Touch-Up —

Two sessions are recommended for optimal results. After your initial healing period Diana will assess the color retention and perform any refinements needed to achieve your perfect final result. Pigments are body-compatible and will gradually soften over time — particularly with sun exposure — which is why periodic touch-ups every few years keep the results looking their best.

PERMANENT MAKEUP FAQs

We recommend that you bring your favorite/commonly used colors for the desired area. Color, shape, and size is important, so discuss what you want and expect. Thick or square eyebrows might be what you see in fashion magazines, but that’s for show. You can always enhance your eyebrows or eyeliner after permanent cosmetics for a more dramatic look, but for every day appearances, aim for a natural and flattering eyebrow shape. Eyeliner should be applied into the lash line to give you a fuller, thicker appearance to your eyelashes, adding depth and pop for beautifully accented eyes.

Softap® is a form of permanent cosmetics done by hand. Your permanent cosmetic professional has complete control over where pigment is deposited in your skin with the Softap® hand method. Two sessions are required for best results. Softap® products are pigments, which your body breaks down over time, especially with sun exposure. You can also have hair strokes with the Softap® method. It looks beautiful, does not discolor, and doesn’t leave blotchy dots of unwanted or off- colors after healing. We recommend you come to LHR for a free consultation.

Microblading is a destructive eyebrow blading technique. Simulated hair strokes are created with blades as ink is pushed into the skin, which damages tissue. Ink isn’t body-friendly and the colors change as well. After microblading, a client may end up with scar tissue and destruction of existing eyebrow hair follicles. A month after the procedure, the color sets up with blues, grays, charcoal, and greens. The lines turn blotchy, leaving permanent discoloration. The once-visible hair strokes vanish after healing. Hair strokes do not look as sharp and do not blend in with existing hair.

Yes. Diana sees many clients seeking correction who are unhappy after having had a microblading procedure. Softap® pigment can be applied to neutralize the bad color, so that the old color is disguised. Diana can also remove and alter colors. She does not do laser removal of colors. Do not seek laser treatments for removal of permanent cosmetics or microblading. Laser will remove any existing eyebrow hair. LHR Skin and Vein Center can fix the problem so that you can go out and feel good about yourself again.

Diana provides permanent makeup using Softap, which is a method that uses soft tapping to implant color into the skin that is extremely gentle on the skin and does not cause damage to the hair follicles or cause scar tissue like some other methods of permanent makeup. Softap gives a much softer, more natural look to permanent makeup with a beautiful finish that holds the true color of the pigment when healed. Over the last several years Diana has seen many people with poor results from microblading (a technique for implanting pigment/ink that has grown popular in recent years) and has been able to perfect her ability to correct the color and shape of microblading that didn’t heal as desired. Many times microblading causes damage to the skin and the hair follicle which in turn does not give the desired result after it heals. Diana is even able to remove unwanted ink/pigment from the skin when the shape of the brow is not what was desired. Her eye for creating the perfect shape brow to fit your face while staying true to your natural brow is remarkable!

Please refrain from applying any makeup, lotions or perfumes the day of your appointment.

Yes. For those interested in permanent make-up on the lips, we would suggest that medication be taken before during and after the treatment.

Yes. However, for patients on blood thinners or aspirins, we would ask that you discontinue those types of medications 1 week prior to your permanent make-up procedure. We recommend not using retin-A creams or glycolic peels on the treated area for 1 week after a permanent make-up procedure.

You can have permanent make-up done if you tan, but you must avoid tanning 1 week after the procedure.

Pricing depends on the area. A quote will be provided during a free no obligation consultation.

Complete healing, which involves light scabbing, takes about five days. You should be able to return to work and other activities by the next day.
