PHOTO-FACIAL REJUVENATION
At LHR Skin and Vein Center, we offer state-of-the art services to repair and minimize the signs of aging on your skin. Intense Pulse Light (IPL) or photo-facial rejuvenation is the most technologically advanced treatment to safely and effectively treat a wide range of concerns, including: broken capillaries, benign brown pigment, age spots (sun induced freckles), mottled pigmentation, rosacea, melasma, freckles, ruddy complexion, birthmarks, and port wine stain. It offers a safe, non-invasive solution to improve skin texture, fine lines, and reduce pore size. It provides superior cosmetic results and outstanding satisfaction with no down time.
After all sun damage is removed, you will start producing collagen again, and your skin will start to plump out and lines will diminish.
WHAT IS IPL PHOTO REJUVENATION?
IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light. Unlike a traditional laser that uses a single focused wavelength, IPL delivers broad-spectrum light energy at multiple wavelengths simultaneously. This allows a single treatment to target multiple skin concerns at once — pigmentation, vascular issues, texture, and more — without surgery, without injections, and without significant downtime.
During treatment, carefully controlled pulses of light penetrate the skin and are absorbed by specific targets — melanin in pigmented spots, hemoglobin in blood vessels, and collagen-producing cells in deeper tissue. The body then naturally processes and eliminates the damaged cells, revealing clearer, more even, more youthful-looking skin in the weeks that follow.
IPL photo rejuvenation has consistently ranked among the top five most popular non-surgical aesthetic procedures in the United States — and for good reason. It works, it’s comfortable, and the results are visible.
THE LUVO LUCENT IPL — WHY IT’S IN A CLASS OF ITS OWN
At LHR Skin and Vein Center, Diana uses the Luvo Lucent IPL, one of the most advanced professional IPL systems on the market. Here’s what makes it exceptional:
3,500 Watts of Power — The Highest Available
The Lucent IPL delivers 3,500 watts of power — the highest output of any IPL system currently on the market. More power means more effective treatment at the precise energy levels needed to achieve real results, not just surface-level improvements.
Seven Expert Filters for Precision Targeting
The Lucent IPL comes with seven interchangeable filters, each calibrated to target a specific wavelength of light for a specific skin concern. This means Diana can precisely select the right filter for your exact concern — whether that’s sun damage, broken capillaries, acne, or hair — rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.
Four Advanced Pulse Modes
Four specially designed pulse modes allow Diana to customize the energy delivery pattern for maximum effectiveness and comfort on every treatment area. Different skin concerns and different skin types respond better to different pulse patterns — At LHR Skin and Vein Center Every Body is Unique, the Lucent IPL gives her the flexibility to treat it that way with every session.
Automatic Cooling Technology
The Lucent IPL features built-in automatic cooling that protects the outer layer of the skin during treatment. This keeps you comfortable, reduces post-treatment redness, and actually improves the effectiveness of the treatment by allowing higher energy levels to be used safely.
Built-In Presets with LCD Touchscreen
A user-friendly interface with built-in presets for the most popular treatments means Diana can select precise treatment parameters based on your skin type and concern quickly and accurately — reducing the chance of error and ensuring consistent results every session.
Large Treatment Spot Size
The Lucent IPL’s large 15mm x 40mm spot size covers more skin per pulse than smaller systems — meaning treatments are faster without sacrificing precision or effectiveness.
WHAT CONDITIONS DOES IPL PHOTO REJUVENATION TREAT?
The Luvo Lucent IPL is one of the most versatile skin treatment systems available. At LHR Skin and Vein Center, Diana uses it to treat a wide range of skin concerns including: * Sun Damage and Age Spots — Years of sun exposure leave behind brown spots, freckles, and uneven pigmentation. IPL targets the melanin in these spots, breaking them down so the body can naturally eliminate them. Most clients see dramatic lightening within 1-3 weeks of treatment. * Rosacea and Facial Redness — Chronic redness, flushing, and the diffuse redness associated with rosacea respond exceptionally well to IPL. The light targets hemoglobin in the dilated blood vessels responsible for redness, reducing their appearance significantly. * Broken Capillaries and Spider Veins — Visible broken blood vessels on the face and legs can be safely and effectively treated with IPL. The light energy heats the vessel wall, causing it to collapse and be reabsorbed by the body. * Melasma and Hyperpigmentation — Hormonal pigmentation, pregnancy mask, and other forms of uneven skin tone can be significantly improved with a series of IPL treatments targeting excess melanin in the skin. * Fine Lines and Wrinkles — IPL stimulates collagen production deep within the skin by heating the collagen fibers and activating fibroblasts. Over time this leads to firmer, smoother, more youthful-looking skin with improved texture. * Acne — The Lucent IPL emits specific wavelengths that target Cutibacterium acnes — the bacteria responsible for acne inflammation. With a series of treatments, active acne improves and future breakouts are reduced. * Dull, Uneven Skin Tone — Even without specific spots or vessels to target, IPL delivers an overall brightening and rejuvenating effect that leaves skin looking more radiant, even, and refreshed. * Unwanted Hair — The Lucent IPL can also be used for hair removal on the face, neck, chin, and body by targeting melanin in the hair follicle — making it a versatile addition to your overall treatment plan. However, we have significantly more sophisticated methods of Permanent Hair Removal.
WHY THE RIGHT PERSON USING THIS MACHINE MATTERS MORE THAN THE MACHINE ITSELF
The Luvo Lucent IPL is an exceptional piece of technology. But technology is only as good as the person operating it.
IPL treatments require a deep understanding of skin anatomy, light physics, and how different skin tones and conditions respond to varying wavelengths and energy levels. The wrong settings on the wrong skin type can cause burns, hyperpigmentation, or simply ineffective results. This is why choosing your IPL provider is every bit as important as choosing the right equipment.

WHAT TO EXPECT BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER YOUR IPL TREATMENT
Before Your Treatment
To ensure the best results and minimize any risk, Diana will review your skin and medical history at your free consultation before recommending IPL. In the weeks leading up to treatment you should avoid sun exposure and tanning beds, discontinue use of retinol and certain acids on the treatment area, and avoid Accutane for at least six months prior. Diana will provide you with a complete preparation checklist at your consultation.
During Your Treatment
You will be given protective eyewear before treatment begins. A cooling gel may be applied to the treatment area for additional comfort. Diana will then apply the Lucent IPL handpiece to your skin, delivering controlled pulses of light. Most clients describe the sensation as a mild rubber band snap followed by a brief warmth. Treatment times range from 10 to 60 minutes depending on the size of the area and the concerns being addressed.
After Your Treatment
Some redness and warmth in the treated area is completely normal and typically resolves within a few hours. Brown spots may temporarily darken before flaking away over the following 1-2 weeks — this is the treatment working exactly as it should. Most clients return to their normal activities immediately after treatment. Sun protection on treated areas is essential in the weeks following your session.
How Many Sessions Will I Need?
Most clients achieve their desired results in 3 to 5 sessions spaced approximately one month apart. Diana will build a personalized treatment plan at your consultation based on the severity of your concerns and your goals. Annual maintenance sessions are typically recommended to sustain optimal results long term.
